- Inner Mongolia, CHINA -

One of the last remaining steam hauled passenger services in the world - this westbound express
heads towards the sunset on the Jitong Line, in Inner Mongolia. October 2004.

It's 5.30am and "QJ" 6911 departs Chaganhada, heading into the dawn sun, with the eastbound passenger
in April 2005. All photos © David Hill.

No 6911 bowling along, eastbound through the semi desert, out of Daban.

The same service pictured steaming eastwards over the steppes soon after leaving Daban
behind the regular No. 6911, again in April 2005.
