- HUANAN FORESTRY RAILWAY -


With the bark of twin exhausts echoing off the hillsides, two "C2" class locos make slow but
steady progress to the summmit with a loaded coal train. Huanan. Late November, 2006.


"C2" 041 stops the traffic as she arrives back in Huanan with coal from the mine. Nov 2006.

In late November 2006, the line was operating a couple of trains a day during daylight.



Chasing the last daylight train back to Huanan. Has the sun set on Huanan for good?



A C2 class rattles it's way up country with a train of empties on the delightful
Huanan narrow gauge railway in April, 2005.



Even on it's ridiculously small driving wheels, No 041 shows a fair turn of
speed as it travels the initial flat section of the line. April 2005.



The following day, the scene had changed dramatically with an overnight snowfall.
C2 class, No. 168 battles through, heading up the line with empty wagons.



Onwards toward the summit, No. 168 threads the delicate tracery of a wintery
