- The Jixi Mine System -

An inch perfect "SY" class line-up - 8 am shift change on a foggy morning in

SY 1369, with banker, storming the Hengshan incline, with an unusual consist -
a heavy duty crane, and a rake of passenger coaches. Sadly, the loco was assisting
in it's own demise - for the crane was used to construct a stronger bridge -
to carry new diesels when they arrive. November 2006.

Final checks before starting the shift at Hengshan, Jixi. November 2006.

Heading across the fields away from the Zhengwan mine. Despite it's numerous collieries, Jixi offers a
surprising range of rural landscapes. Yet another foggy day in November 2006.

Winter atmosphere a plenty when a struggling "SY" appears out of the Chengzihe fog. November 2006.

More action near Chengzihe when the stalled "SY" finally moved it's train, late November, 2006.

Reversing back to Dongchang, from the spoil dump at Xincheng. Once again, the smog made photography a challenge.
